Chenois Creek is one of the few prints done by Bennett that is of an actual location. It is an Indian family name, The fishing shack can still be seen on the drive going NW from Hoquiam to Ocean Shores. You must look quickly, though, to spot it. Many years ago the rains very heavy and the Creek rose. It uprooted the shack and started to carry it into the bay. The locals rallied with grappling hooks and ropes, to haul it back to its mooring. Surely this shack, which had been immortalized in a piece of artwork must be rescued. A sturdier foundation was erected and there it still is to this very day.
