The DISTANT SHORE
This original handscreened print is from Elton Bennetts mint condition, market-ready trust collection, circa 1972-74. It was originally conceived as a handscreened notecard in the early 1960s. It evolved and went though several background variations - several examples can be seen in the Studio group. The design work in this print is from the last screening, circa the early 1970s through 1974. It is one of Elton Bennetts classic beach scenes. In most Bennetts water is not far away. Here we see it in the hazy inlet. The jacket colors were brushed on by hand at the last. Bennett used oil based inks for silkscreening and oils for the brushwork. The colors will remain bright for hundreds of years.
This silkscreen print is from Evelyn Bennetts ~Estate Trust Collection~. It has been assigned a number corresponding to the total number of prints inherited in this title: it is from the mint condition, market-ready trust collection. A Certificate of Authenticity will accompany the print.
